The Association of Home Information Pack Providers has decided to help regulate the new HIP industry on behalf of the consumer. It has achieved this by compiling a Code of Practice for HIP providers to follow which ensures there are redress mechanisms in case of misleading content in the Home Information Pack.
To raise awareness, there will be the above Kite Mark on all packs that are Code of Compliant. To oversee that the individual HIP providers are code compliant, an inspection regime has been put into place by an independently run scheme called the Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB). This will overlook and control the CoPSO search code and the AHIPP HIP Code.
