16th October 2007 The AHIPP Gala Charity Dinner.
HIPHIPHooray.com were the sponsors of the AHIPP Charity Gala Dinner 2007.
Over 360 members and their guests gathered at the The Brewery at what has become their annual gala dinner ro raise money for charity. The dinner raised a considerable sum for the above charities and provided an opportunity for all members to unite, review how HIPs have impacted on the market to date, and to recognise the industry's significant achievements over the last year. The evening commenced with a champagne reception with music from the Oreos String Quartet. Once everyone was seated, Mike Ockenden gave a warm welcome and introduced John Conteh, former Light Heavyweight Champion of the World, who gave the after dinner speeach and also did a marvellous job hosting the auction. Those with any energy left then danced the night away to 60s/70s cover band Group Therapy.
All proceeds of the charity auction will go to the Volunteer Mountain Rescue Group and Acorns Children's Hospice. For further information on Acorns and what they do, please see their website www.acorns.org.uk
